The comedy-drama series follows a group of friends as they take trips together over the course of one year, all of which are impacted by the sudden divorce of one of the three couples.
Inspired by the Alan Alda film of the same name, The Four Seasons takes its shock twist ending in an entirely different direction to the original, which should allow it to chart its own path in the now-confirmed second chapter.

The Four Seasons season 2 release date speculation
That said, no release date or window has been announced for the project just yet, so it's unclear how long we'll be waiting to discover what the next chapter has in store.
With that in mind, we'd predict that The Four Seasons season 2 could arrive within 12-18 months, which would place it in summer or autumn 2026 – but that's just an estimate for the time being.
Co-creator and star Tina Fey explained (via The Hollywood Reporter): "I think we were encouraged to stay open to [season 2], as well. It is so human in its scale, and I think humans are going to be around for… at least 15 more years."

Kerri Kenney is also likely to reprise her role as divorced (and recently widowed) Anne, with Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani as her loyal friends Danny and Claude, who are also married.
Comedy icon Carell would be the sole absence as his character was shockingly killed off at the end of season 1's penultimate episode, with co-creator Fey explaining the decision in an interview with TV Insider.
"So we decided, as painful as it was, that we would let that happen and see what that did to the other characters."

Co-creator Lang Fisher rejected the suggestion that the show could introduce a different group in the style of The White Lotus, telling The Hollywood Reporter that "I don’t think we would do it ever as an anthology".
Fellow writer Tracey Wigfield concurred, revealing that Erika Henningsen's Ginny would also remain a part of the show despite the death of Nick, who was her initial entry-point into the group (comprised of friends two decades her senior).
