FREE cash payments worth up to $400 have been announced – in a $254billion bid to ease inflation pressures.
Eligible Americans don’t need to provide any documentation or even sign up for the “inflation refund checks” which will be dished out to roughly 8.2 million households.

She said on Wednesday that the millions of households slated to qualify will get the relief payments as part of the states massive budget plan.
The direct payments – which cap at $400 – will start going out to eligible tax filers starting in October.
These payments will continue right through to November.
Hochul explained: “Starting in October, over 8 million New Yorkers will get an inflation refund because it’s simple – this is your money and we’re putting it back in your pockets.”
The governor’s office said that those eligible won’t even need to sign up for the free cash.
The checks will be directly mailed to those who qualify.
In order to be eligible, residents must have filed a New York State income tax return for the 2023 tax year.
Additionally they must have a state adjusted gross income of $150,000 or less for individuals, or $300,000 or less for joint tax filers.
The amount given in the check is set to vary depending on income and filing status.
For example, individual filers earning $75,000 or less will receive $200.
While those earning between $75,000.01 and $150,000 will get a smaller amount of $150.
The bombshell scheme is being hailed as a means to help New Yorkers cope with the rising cost of living.
Hochul pledged: “I’ll never stop fighting to help your family address the rising cost of living.
“And that’s why I also delivered on my promise to cut taxes for the middle class, expand the child tax credit and ensure free school meals for every student.”
It comes as Americans are being sent no strings attached payments of up to $500.
The payments are scheduled to continue for the entire year, with those who need it most being empowered to make positive change.
