MCDONALD’S fans are fuming and vowing a boycott of one branch after it introduced a strict new age policy.
One of the fast food restaurants in Fairfax County, Virginia, slapped on an age requirement of 21 to enter the premised.

Fast-food lovers must ring a doorbell before being allowed in by a member of staff – and will only be admitted if they are 21 or older.
Customers were baffled by the policy and kicked off about the restrictions on social media.
Ray said that he would be “getting back into my car and leaving” if he turned up and there was a doorbell system.
Zachary pointed out the contradiction with other areas of life: “I can be sent to war BUT I still can’t buy a handgun, drink a beer, do what I want with MY money, and now I can’t go into McDonald’s… crazy country.”
Chris Newman quipped: “As if McDonald’s wasn’t already dead enough.”
Cody thought the move would play straight into a rival chain’s hands, saying: “This means Burger King is about to be king again.”
Another commented that the window coverings make the place look “like a strip club”.
But some were more sympathetic to the restaurant’s decision.
A Facebook user said: “It’s a shame it has come to that, but kids are out of control in McDonalds.”
Christian said: “Maybe if these kids would behave for one in their lives in a restaurant and not tear everything up, maybe age requirements at McDonald’s wouldn’t be a thing.”
And Doug wrote: “Sad that people can’t control themselves, now you gotta be 21 to walk in a burger place. We really should be ashamed as a society.”
A sign stuck onto the window reads: “Due to repeated incidents of student violence, the location is temporarily closed for dine-in service to anyone under 21 years of age.”
A spokesperson said that student violence and disrespectful behavior occur at least once a week, frustrating staff and customers.
McDonald's statement in full
A MCDONALD'S restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia, has introduced a policy banning customers under the age of 21 from eating inside.
“We love being part of the Edison community and we value each and every customer,” a representative said.
“We’ve enhanced our Franconia Road McDonald’s security measures in an effort to promote a safe environment for our customers and staff.
“This policy was developed in partnership with local school officials with oversight from local law enforcement.
“This serves as a temporary fix as we work towards a long-term solution for all.”
The new measures mean that some people who can vote and have driving licenses will not be able to eat inside the Alexandria restaurant.
Diners slightly over the age of 21 might have to show ID if they want to enjoy their Happy Meals inside.
A McDonald’s spokesperson revealed the policy is in force Monday to Friday.
Robert Hancasky, a long-term customer at the Alexandria branch, said: “The fighting is a problem and they’re pretty brazen. The management tries to step in and these kids are pretty violent.
“They’re just trying to stop the violence because it’s not fair to any other customer who comes in for the sandwich, a hard-working person, they got to put up with a bunch of idiots.”
