The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has a foreign players’ problem as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 resumes soon. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar might be out of the tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the revised schedule of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 and their new white-ball head coach. Foreign players’ conundrum in IPL 2025

The BCCI is in a spot of bother. Many foreign players may not return back to India for IPL 2025. Some won’t be available due to international commitments, like in the case of Jos Buttler or Tristan Stubbs, while others, like Marcus Stoinis or Mitchell Starc, are afraid to return after what happened in Dharamshala.

Jaiswal-Kishan in India A squad

Players part of knocked-out IPL teams are likely to be part of India A’s squad for the upcoming England tour. Among the big names are Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan. Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead the team against England Lions. Sarfaraz Khan, Devdutt Padikkal, and Rajat Patidar aren’t expected to be part of the squad.

After Rohit-Kohli, Shami retiring from Tests?

Mohammed Shami has quashed reports of his retiring from Test cricket, a few days after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma bid the format adieu. The pacer who’s expected to travel to England for a 5-match Test series chided the author of the story, writing that such people destroy the careers of sportsmen.

Rajat Patidar to miss IPL 2025?

Rajat Patidar isn’t recovering as quickly as RCB expected. The captain had injured his finger on May 3, and 10 days later, it’s not much better. Patidar might just miss the remainder of the IPL 2025 season, and his England tour hopes might be dashed as well. Given where RCB stands, this injury could cost them dearly.

PSL 2025 to start on same day as IPL 2025

The PCB has announced the revised schedule of PSL 2025. The tournament will restart after a 9-day hiatus, just like the IPL 2025, on May 17. With just 8 matches left, the final will be played on May 25. All the games will be played in Pakistan, but there is no certainty regarding foreign players returning to participate.

Ex-RCB coach joins Pakistan team

Former RCB coach Mike Hesson has joined Pakistan as their white-ball head coach. Hesson is coaching Islamabad United in PSL 2025 and will join the Men in Green a day after the tournament ends. The Kiwi coach will be replacing Aaqib Javed, who’ll now work as the High Performance Director of the Pakistan team.
