A potential Moses Itauma vs Martin Bakole showdown has divided the opinion of the talkSPORT Boxing panel.
British rising heavyweight star Itauma is attracting huge plaudits, having won all of his 11 professional fights so far.
Warren has teased Itauma vs BakoleHe will next face former NFL linebacker Mike Balogun later this month in his return on May 24 as he looks to keep busy.
Should he taste another expected victory, promoter Frank Warren has teased he could next face dangerous heavyweight Bakole.
The Congolese contender was hugely feared but suffered a brutal KO defeat to Joseph Parker, before drawing with Efe Ajagba last weekend.
As a result his stocks have been diminished slightly, but question marks were raised over his physical conditioning.
And when discussing the idea of a future clash, Ade Oladipo argued Bakole would beat Itauma if he came in prime shape.
He said on the latest episode of talkBOXING: “I’m going Bakole.
“Not in that condition he was in, but he can get down to like 285lbs.
“There’s a big jump from Demsey McKean to a fight with Martin Bakole.
“I still rate Bakole, it is a big big jump. Of course Moses is incredible.”
British cruiserweight champion Viddal Riley pitched in, instead picking Itauma to show signs of development.
Bakole is being viewed as a huge threat to Itauma by OladipoGetty“I’ll go with Moses, but of course it is a potential banana skin fight,” he said.
“But these things can go wrong, although I do think Moses can pull it out of the bag.
“I think he can really grow that day, but it will be a difficult one.
And talkSPORT pundit Oliver believed that recent performances back Oliver’s theory.
“We’ve seen two performances where Bakole has come in at a ridiculous weight,” Oliver concluded.
“But you have to go on recent performances. He had the chance to put that right and lose the weight against Ajagba but didn’t.
Itauma could find himself in the world title mix by 2026Getty“What happens if he is 300lbs against Moses. You can’t put your money on him then.”
Itauma has a big two years planned as he looks to push his way into the world title mix.
His promoter Francis Warren originally suggested he could fight three or four times this year including his upcoming bout.
Time will tell but it appears Itauma is tracked on a one-way road to the top.
