BRITAIN’S Got Talent is embroiled in yet another ‘fix’ row ahead of the final later this month.

Singer Mickey Callisto appeared on the show over the weekend after previously crooning a Queen song in his audition.

Performing yet another song by Queen for the live semi-finals, Mickey revealed that he was not allowed to sing his own song despite asking producers.

Mickey later hit out and fumed over why he was forced to perform another similar song and not his own original tune.

After he failed to make it through to the live finals, Mickey took to his social media to have a chat with his fans.

Getting candid, Mickey didn’t hold back in the slightest.

“I wanted to sing my own song in the semi final,” he said in a video on his Instagram account.

“I said to the producers for weeks that I wanted to sing it.

“Because, if you’ve been at my own show before with Mickey Callisto, you’ll see that I get the exact same response in the exact same level performance.

“But unfortunately, that wasn’t the case tonight, and it was Queen” he added.

Meanwhile, in the caption, he wrote: “I wanted to sing my own song supernova about inspiring people and stopping at nothing to achieve your dreams but that wasn’t to be.

“But if there is a wildcard again this year for the final and I get it then I’ll push for it but if it is to be another queen song, like I said there’s only one song for the final.”

Commenting on Mickey’s video, one person said: “Well done for speaking out. You highlighted the production interference and it showed on the other acts.”

Another added: “I guessed that would happen, so unfair that they manipulate what you can sing. You should have had the golden buzzer first off.

“That aside you were the best singer by far, your passion shines through. Go and show Cowell what he has missed out on.”

Reacting to his Saturday night performance on X at the time, one person said: “They should have allowed Mickey to sing his own song. I think he smashed it anyway! Amazing voice!”

Britain's Got Talent's biggest 'fix' rows

Britain's Got Talent has been plagued with 'fix' rows over the years. How many of these do you remember?

Jasmine Elcock – 2016: Teenage singer Jasmine Elcock stunned the nation with her version of Cher’s Believe. But it then transpired she had already performed professionally in London’s West End. Jasmine, 14, admitted: “I’ve performed in Annie in the West End at about the age of nine or 10, but I really get nervous.”

IrShad Shaikh – 2017: BGT fans were left questioning the rule book when IrShad Shaikh auditioned. He got four red buzzers from the judges, which would usually mean an instant dismissal. Yet in a strange turn of events, they let him continue with his act…and put him through to the next round.

Colin Thackery – 2019: Elderly war veteran Colin won BGT in 2019, but there was an outcry over the final. He warbled his place to win with a version of We’ll Meet Again but fans were furious that escapologist Jonathan Goodwin didn’t even rank in the top three. Viewers felt Jonathan – who almost suffocated while being buried alive in a gravel pit – should have won.

Axel Blake – 2022: Comedian Axel Blake was given a Golden Buzzer in 2022 after making the judges laugh. But fans were fuming when they discovered Axel already had a show on worldwide streaming platform Amazon Prime. Despite this, Axel still went on to win the series.

Taryn Charles – 2024: Singer Taryn Charles is one of this year’s hopefuls lucky enough to receive the Golden Buzzer. Bruno Tonilio put her straight through to the semi-finals following her performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin, but it has now come to light that she is no stranger to TV. Viewers recognised Taryn from an episode of ITV1’s Starstruck, where she impersonated Whitney Houston for judges Olly Murs, Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight.

Another added: “I don’t normally comment on BGT but producers not letting Mickey Callisto sing his preferred song choice, feels like unfair manipulation.”

While a third wrote: “Mickey was definitely set up by being made to sing a Queen song.”

A fourth then said: “Would’ve preferred to have heard Mickey sing his own song, he’s more like a Freddie Mercury tribute act, need to see if he would be versatile as a singer, but other than that, he didn’t seem to happy with the comments either!”

And a fifth added: “You have orchestrated so many outcomes to come your way Simon, I’m not letting you do that again.

“Download Supernova, the song Mickey SHOULD’VE SUNG. Not all winners grab the gold. Keep it up Mickey!”

On the night after his performance, judge Simon Cowell said to Mickey: “You are a really, really good Freddie Mercury tribute act and, for that, it was really, really good.”

Defending his song choice on stage, Mickey explained how he wanted “to sing his own song” and revealed how he was not allowed.
