Andy Cohen Has Strong Words for Fans Believing ‘RHONY’ Cancellation Rumors ...Middle East

Andy Cohen has entered the chat when it comes to speculation that The Real Housewives of New York City is no more.

Andy, 56, left a pretty telling comment on The Cut’s Instagram page after the New York Magazine offshoot published an article titled, “Bye-Bye, RHONY,” claiming that the Bravo franchise was “going dark” after 15 seasons on the air. (The feature largely relied on Page Six reporting that the show was over for the foreseeable future.)

“This is a cute story except it’s not cancelled Andy commented on Saturday, May 10. (The Instagram post and article are still active, despite his denial.)

Rumors about the future of RHONY have been swirling for months, especially after the season 15 finale and subsequent reunion aired earlier this year. Speculation ramped up once again after Bravo announced their newest slate of shows on Wednesday, May 7, and RHONY was not included.

“Nothing is official,” a Bravo spokesperson told Us Weekly on Friday, May 9, after the Page Six report. “The show hasn’t been canceled.”

Several sources have since offered some insight about what’s going down with RHONY behind the scenes.

“Final decisions haven’t been made, and they are seeing if they can find a solution,” one insider told Us exclusively on Friday. “The network and producers have been debating whether or not to bring it back.”

The same source explained that none of the current cast has been offered a new contract, especially as fighting between the women continues offscreen. The network is “figuring out how to make it work,” the insider shared.

RHONY premiered in 2008 and went on pause in 2021 after the show’s 13th season. The reality show returned to Bravo in 2023 with an entirely new cast — all of whom returned for season 15.

Tensions between said stars, including Sai de Silva, Jenna Lyons, Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Racquel Chevremont, Brynn Whitfield and Jessel Taank, rose during the two-part RHONY reunion in February. Most of the cast’s issues surround the possibility of working with Brynn, 39, again.

“There have been production issues that added to why the network and producers haven’t been sure about its future,” the same source shared. “There were problems with the cast, especially with Brynn, that turned dark and ugly and changed the dynamic. Whereas before she was a fan favorite the previous season.”

The insider also told Us that the “audience didn’t catch on” with the new cast and “ratings are not what they were” in years past. (The original RHONY cast included fan favorites like Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley and Luann de Lesseps.)

“Some of the fans were let down,” the insider added. “If you don’t keep the old cast, it becomes a different show, and fans didn’t connect to it.”
