The Mission League’s Crespi and Harvard-Westlake were both placed in Division 1 — with the Celts earning a first-round bye — when the CIF Southern Section baseball pairings were released Monday morning.
The Celts (22-2) were this season’s league champions and the Wolverines (19-9) became runner-up when Crespi won a three-game series against Harvard-Westlake to earn their first league title since 2010.
Crespi won the Division 2 crown in 2023. Harvard-Westlake reached the Division 1 finals last season and last won a title in 2021.
In the CIF L.A. City Section, El Camino Real was announced as the No. 2 seed in the Open Division when the playoff pairings were released Saturday. The Royals beat Birmingham in back-to-back games to secure the West Valley League championship and last won a City Section title in 2016.
