Connor Hughes knocked out Sebastien Di Franco with a thunderous left hook at the top of the bill at PFL Belfast.
The Liverpudlian will now face Gino van Steenis in the semi-finals of PFL’s 2025 lightweight tournament.
Hughes put Di Franco to sleep with a sickening hookX / PFLEurope Di Franco instantly fell to the back as he laid motionless on the canvasX / PFLEuropeFollowing a fairly even first round, Hughes started to gain the upper hand in the second five-minute round.
Midway through round two, Di Franco pooped a jab at Hughes, who dropped his shoulder and sent an explosive right hand in the direction of his Belgian opponent.
Hughes instantly followed that up with an immediate left hook what knocked Di Franco out instantly.
The raucous Belfast crowd quickly rose to their feet to applaud the sicking knockout.
And they soon began applauding Di Franco as he made it back to his feet for the official announcement.
Medics inside Belfast’s SSE Arena had rushed to the SmartCage in order to administer oxygen to Di Franco.
But he was able to make his way to the stool before Hughes was announced as the winner.
“At the end of the day, this is what we do, but this sport is brutal,” Hughes told Dan Hardy after his impressive knockout.
“He’s just another person trying to feed his family.
“I have nothing but respect, it’s what we’ve come to do, but at the same time I hope he’s OK.

One took to X and said: “Scary KO,” while another described it as ‘brutal.’
A third said: “KO of the year contender.”
Hughes, 27, is now 11-2 in his pro MMA career, having won four of his six bouts in the PFL.
