The SEC Softball Tournament will no longer hold a championship game. Oklahoma and Texas A&M have been declared co-champions.
The weather in Athens is to blame for the championship game’s cancellation. Late Friday, the SEC announced a schedule change from 5 p.m. ET to 1 p.m. ET for first pitch of Saturday’s championship game. While the conference anticipated inclement weather, it turned out that the new time was not early enough to beat Mother Nature. The game entered a weather delay before first pitch and was ultimately canceled.
