Following the suspension of IPL 2025, the players, officials and staff are scrambling to get back home. The BCCI and the IPL governing council called of the season for a week following escalating India-Pakistan tensions. All players, India and overseas, have been advised to return, with CSK players, including Ravindra Jadeja, already on their flight back home.

The official confirmation of IPL suspension came in on Friday. The decision was taken after the PBKS vs DC clash in Dharamsala was called off midway due to security concerns. With the ever escalating border conflict between India and Pakistan, the decision to postpone the tournament for a week was taken.
As per the BCCI advisory, franchises were asked to disburse immediately. A decision on the tournament to be taken on a later date. While the players of Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are to travel from Dharamsala, the rest of the franchises are free to leave from their current locations.
CSK, who were last in action on Wednesday in Kolkata. The five-time champions have since left the team and gone their respective ways. Urvil Patel, Chennai Super Kings’ latest recruit, shared an Instagram story of him travelling with veteran Ravindra Jadeja. Both Patel and Jadeja hail from Gujarat and hence were likely traveling together.

The Indian Cricket Board arranged a special Vande Bharat train to transport players, commentators, support staff, cameramen, crew and everyone else involved in the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamshala. BCCI also vouched to help franchises sort travel arrangements for their respective contingents.
“They will be heading back home; we will help with all the logistics, but every foreign player and members of the support staff will be headed back to their respective country. Depending on what is decided in the future, a call will be taken on them returning for the league. But as of now, they will be headed back home,” an IPL official told the Times of India.
