QUIZNOS is making a comeback after a slew of closures, announcing a new futuristic Qube location in Michigan.
The once-thriving Subway rival has suffered a series of setbacks in recent years and was branded “on its last legs” as outlets in state after state were shuttered.

Just 148 were still in action in December 2024.
But just over five years ago, it bit off more than it could chew, overexpanding and saddling franchise owners with excessive costs eating away at their profits.
But there is hope for its legions of devoted fans, one of whom moaned how they “would always grab a sub before going to the beach in the summer.”
Its CEO has just announced the “grand arrival” of its first Qube concept location in Alpena, Northeastern Michigan, which opened May 8 at 320 Johnson Street.
The avant-garde design has roughly 65650 sq ft layouts, with drive-thrus and walk-up windows to put the convenience back in convenience food.
The modular plan will also have self-serving lockers and kiosk ordering in the future.
The restaurants will be built like supersized Lego bricks, almost ready-made in factories off-site and then slotted together on-site.
But despite all the funky building innovations, the menu will still feature traditional Quianos favourites.
Chicken Carbonara and Classic Italian Subs will continue to dazzle hungry punters.
Philly Fries or Tots topped with delectable Black Angus Steak, sautéed peppers & onions, queso blanco and banana peppers will honour the chain’s 45-year history.
Neel Patel, CEO of REGO Restaurant Group, which owns Quiznos, said: “The launch of the Qube marks a pivotal moment in Quiznos’ growth strategy, and we’re thrilled that Alpena, Michigan, is where this new chapter begins.
“This innovative new footprint is engineered to quickly unlock attractive new opportunities for current and future franchisees.
“We’re excited to share our beloved toasted subs with the Alpena Qmmunity and showcase how the Qube redefines convenience, making our delicious, high-quality food more accessible than ever.”
Local businessman Konczak added: “A brand like Quiznos, with its strong potential for continued growth, is the ideal partner for the introduction of the BCubed structure.”
The Alpena location is the sixth Quiznos in the state, but the first in Northeast Michigan, with the closest one more than 3 hours away.
