A FORMER NFL player who was arrested for murdering his girlfriend and burning her corpse has reached a deal with the prosecution.
Kevin Ware Jr., 41, pleaded guilty to the 2021 murder of his girlfriend, Taylor Pomaski, 29.
Ware played as a tight-end for the Washington Redskins and San Francisco in the early 2000s.

She was last seen at a party at her home.
Police searched for clues about her disappearance for months but found nothing until December.
Investigators found Pomaski’s remains in a ditch, but didn’t identify the body parts as hers until April 2022.
The former NFL player was indicted by a grand jury in Harris County, Texas, in July 2022, over a year after his girlfriend’s death.
Ware agreed to serve 30 years in prison for murder and tampering with evidence, specifically a corpse, local ABC outlet KTRK reported.
Days before Pomaski disappeared, Ware was found with a loaded AK-47 along with cocaine and meth when he was pulled over for speeding.
Court documents explained that the athlete “cut [Pomaski] with a knife, hit her with a blunt object, strangled her and then burned her corpse.”
The victim’s ex-boyfriend said he believed that her and Ware’s relationship was abusive before she was murdered.
“Taylor reached out to me many times throughout the month of April,” Eric Zuleger told KHOU 11 News.
“We were talking about her getting out of there, getting back on her feet, getting herself set and stabilized.”
This isn’t the athlete’s first time being a convicted felon.
Ware was previously arrested on two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm as a felon.
He was out on a $23,000 bond for the felon.
Ware was released on April 20, 2021, exactly five days before his girlfriend vanished.

A woman testified that the athlete told her he cut Pomaski’s throat and burned her body.
She alleged that he took a photo at the time of the murder.
Ware will serve time for both the murder and the drug and weapons charges.
