News by : (inews) -

We are less than a week away from the semi-finals and the grand final is looming large on the horizon like an encore from Lordi.

Add to that a selection of costumes that wouldn’t be out of place at a 1970s Elton John concert and it is set to be a night to remember.

The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland this year, with two live Semi-Finals on Tuesday 13 May and Thursday 15 May.

This includes the 31 nations selected to compete in the semi-finals, the host nation, and the five who have automatic places in the final: the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

How do the semi-finals work?

On Tuesday 13 May, 15 acts will compete in the first semi-final and there will be performances from Spain, Italy and Switzerland’s entries.

All-girl pop trio Remember Monday is the UK’s representatives with “What the Hell Just Happened?”.
