Don’t miss the 2025 OC Greek Fest in Anaheim, coming up on May 16-18.

Be sure to visit St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church for live Greek music, traditional Greek dance performances, Greek food, appetizers and pastries, Greek wines, beers and spirits, an outdoor marketplace with unique merchandise and more.

There will also be tours of the church and a kids’ zone for children of all ages.

Regular admission is $5; seniors, children 12 and younger, military, police and fire are free to attend.

Greek Fest will be 5 to 10 p.m. on May 16; noon to 10 p.m. on May 17; and noon to 9 p.m. on May 18. The church is at 405 Dale St.; free parking will be available behind the Walmart at Downtown Buena Park mall, with shuttle service to and from the festival.

Be a part of the 30th anniversary of Anaheim’s Flag Day Parade

There are opportunities for groups to be included and march in the annual Flag Day Parade, which will be held June 8 at Pearson Park.

Organizers are looking for fun entries such as walking groups, specialty cars, musical groups, kids with decorated bikes and more.  And, volunteers are needed to carry two huge flags along the route.

A parade application form needs to be completed and submitted. For more information and the application, call Lori Dinwiddie, Flag Day parade coordinator, at 714-348-2443.

Nominate good-looking properties

Anaheim Beautiful recognizes citizens who keep their property beautiful.

The nomination window is open for the June quarterly property awards. Submit before the May 25 deadline.

You can self-nominate or nominate others for residential or commercial property.

Also, Anaheim Beautiful is providing free lunch for each 2024-25 paid member attending the Flag Day activities on June 8.  Make sure to check in at the booth to receive your meal ticket.

Honoring service to the Anaheim community

The Anaheim Community Foundation honors outstanding Anaheim citizens every year.

These Anaheim SuperHeroes have worked countless hours making Anaheim a better place. Their volunteer hours are numerous and they are active throughout the City.  Thank you and Congratulations.

Local academy plans fundraising tourney

St. Catherine’s Academy is holding its 34th annual golf tournament on May 19.

This year’s event will honor the Anaheim Police Department and will be held at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club.  There will be an 8 a.m. registration and a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

Celebrate the Assistant League’s years of giving

The Assistance League of Anaheim is celebrating 85 years next month.

On May 18, from noon until 3:30 p.m., there will be an anniversary celebration for the nonprofit at the Muzeo Cultural Center in downtown Anaheim. There will be a wine tasting, fabulous silent auction, live entertainment, a catered lunch and more.

Colonists reunited for reunions

It’s time for several Anaheim High class reunions.

The class of 1995 is hosting its 30th reunion on June 7; the Class of 1985 holds its 40th reunion on Sept. 13 and the AHS Alumni Association Membership Mixer will be June 18.
