But one of their new shopping bags is raising eyebrows on Reddit. It features a man with a head made of a broccoli floret lunging kind of suggestively at a woman who has a… hammer (?) for a head. In the comments, another shopper posted a photo of the back of the bag where a man and woman are dancing, and the man has a pineapple for a head, and the woman has a bottle of milk that is spilling out of her head and into her coffee cup.
"If it was another vegetable, it would almost make sense as a grocery-themed design, but her being a mallet is what really makes it weird," wrote one shopper, to which another replied, "At first glance, I thought ice cube."
Another shopper commented, "It'd be one thing if it looked like a meat tenderizer mallet. But no, that is a full on, communist flag, medieval blacksmith looking ass hammer."
But some Aldi fans were still not convinced. One wrote, "Definitely not cheese. You can see the oval at the top of the mallet, that’s where the top of the handle running through the rubber mallet ends. It’s a mallet, now we need an explanation for it. Maybe Aldi is smashing prices."
