University of Northern Colorado hurdler and sprinter Jerome Campbell was named the Big Sky Conference track athlete of the week for the second time in two weeks Monday following a record-setting performance at Colorado State’s Doug Max Invitational.
Campbell was one of three UNC athletes to set school records Saturday at Jack Christiansen Memorial Track in Fort Collins.
Campbell won the 100 meters in 10.13 seconds to set a meet and UNC record. He continued his work in the 110-meter hurdles with a winning time of 13.55 seconds, setting meet and stadium records.
University of Northern Colorado track and field long jumper Kiana Van Haaren competes in an invitational at Colorado State in late March 2025 in Fort Collins. Van Haaren, a junior from Texas, set a UNC record with a jump of 20-5 3/4 (6.24 meters) Friday, April 18 to win the event at the Oregon Open at the University of Oregon. (University of Northern Colorado Athletics).UNC women’s jumper Kiana Van Haaren broke her own school long jump record with a winning mark of 20 feet, 9 inches, while setting a meet record.
Van Haaren, a junior from New Braunfels, Texas, set the school record this past month with a jump of 20′ 5 3/4″ in Eugene, Oregon. Van Haaren’s performance at the Oregon Open beat a 10-year-old UNC record of 20′ 5 1/4″ set by Alisha Allen.
Freshman Jaelynn Lane set a UNC women’s triple jump record at 40′ 4 1/4″ to finish second overall.
Freshman Zander Cruzan won the men’s 400 meters with a meet-record time of 45.98 seconds.
