Toyota offers $25k discount off brand new model until June 2 – but the rebate depends on where shoppers live ...Middle East

CAR shoppers can slash nearly half off a brand-new Toyota, but only if they live in the right place.

A massive new $25,000 rebate is tied to a niche eco-friendly model that already has a small footprint in the US.

The limited-time offer is for the 2025 Toyota Mirai.

The hydrogen-powered sedan is getting a massive cash incentive from Toyota, but only for buyers who go through the brand’s promotional financing.

Between May 1 and June 2, Toyota is offering $25,000 in Financing Subvention Cash on the 2025 Mirai.

The deal can be paired with 0% APR for 72 months, as long as the buyer uses Toyota’s approved financing.

The rebate cuts the base price of the 2025 Mirai from $52,890 to $27,890 including destination charges.

That’s a 47% discount for a luxury-style sedan that most people haven’t even heard of.

The offer is spelled out in a bulletin Toyota sent to dealers, outlining purchase and lease incentives.

Lease shoppers can also save, with $7,500 in lease cash available on the Mirai during the same window.

Toyota has removed the top Limited trim from the Mirai, so only the XLE version is available for 2025.

The model competes with hydrogen-fueled SUVs like the Hyundai Nexo and the new Honda CR-V Fuel Cell.

But the Mirai remains the only hydrogen-powered car on sale in the US, making it a rare find in today’s market.

Shoppers who are looking to take advantage of the offer will need to finance through Toyota and reside in California.

Hydrogen stations are mostly concentrated in California, one of the reasons why the deal is limited to that region.

While steep, this discount isn’t Toyota’s biggest Mirai markdown this year.

MIRAI DRAWBACK

In January, the 2024 Mirai was being offered with a $35,000 discount on the XLE and $43,000 off the Limited.

Those deals also came with 0% APR for 72 months, similar to the current promotion.

In some cases, shoppers were able to get the 2024 Mirai for under $16,000 with all incentives stacked.

The 2025 model hasn’t hit that price point, but at under $28,000, it’s still a standout deal.

The main drawback is that hydrogen stations are few and mostly found on the West Coast.

Toyota has not said if it plans to extend the deal or expand eligibility to other states after June 2.

TOYOTA-BMW COLLAB

The Mirai’s discount comes as Toyota ramps up its push into hydrogen tech, and it’s not doing so alone.

Toyota is working with BMW to build new hydrogen cars, with the first one expected by 2028.

BMW plans to add hydrogen power to one of its current cars, but full details haven’t been shared yet.

Both carmakers see hydrogen as a long-term option alongside electric cars to help cut carbon emissions.

Hydrogen vehicles drive like EVs but convert hydrogen into electricity on the go, skipping traditional batteries.

BMW boss Oliver Zipse called the project “a milestone in automotive history,” while Toyota’s president said the two companies share a “multi-pathway” vision for cleaner mobility.

The main roadblock is still fueling infrastructure, but governments in the UK and EU are investing millions to grow the network.

Toyota didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment by The U.S. Sun.
