Progress on the track was hard to come by last weekend in Miami for Lewis Hamilton, but the Ferrari stalwart had no trouble overtaking the fashion elite at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City.
Handpicked by Vogue's Anna Wintour as a co-chair for the glittering affair, Hamilton rolled into the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a custom cream colored suit by Wales Bonner that seamlessly embodied the event’s "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" theme, whatever that was intended to mean.
The look featured an elegantly cut tuxedo and bowtie combo topped off – quite literally – with a matching beret, giving off a cool jazz-club Cab Calloway energy with a side of Monaco royalty.
Never one to shy away from accessories, the seven-time world champion added a brooch to his lapel, diamond earrings and enough rings to outshine a floodlit F1 thriller in Abu Dhabi.
Hamilton co-chaired the event alongside Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams – proving once again that while he's still searching for speed in a Ferrari, he’s already lapping the field when it comes to style.
