This week, Tom and Aaron examine Donald Trump’s approval rating, 100 days into his second term. Polls at the very start of the term found that Trump’s approval was a bit higher than it was at the start of his first term, but the opposite is true now: Trump’s 100-day approval rating is actually lower this time than it was last time. (Tom says that’s partly to do with economic concerns, and partly because some voters were initially hopeful that Trump 2.0 might be less chaotic – but they’re not so hopeful anymore.) And Tom says if Trump remains deeply unpopular, it could give North Carolina Democrats a chance to pick up an additional U.S. House seat that was drawn to benefit the GOP.
