Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen haven’t been on the best of terms for a while.
The sourness of their relationship has been well documented and now their former teammate wants them to repair the partnership that delivered six NBA championships for the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.
Jordan and running mate Scottie Pippen dominated the 1990sAFPCraig Hodges, who won two rings with Pippen and Jordan, described how the pair were brothers once.
“He was under the influence of 23 [Jordan],” Hodges said of Pippen on the All the Smoke podcast.
“So he [was] the little brother. I think to some degree, that’s still there, in that little rift they’re having, but, lord willing, it’ll come together, because everybody’s got children and grand babies now, man. We too old for that s***.”
The sheer success that Jordan and Pippen enjoyed together makes it surprising that the duo are not close in their post-playing days.
In 12 seasons at Chicago, Pippen averaged 17.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.9 blocks.
Jordan and Pippen delivered six titles in eight years together as they forged one of the most iconic dynasties in American sports history.
However, since the pair both left the Bulls in 1999, their relationship has been anything but successful.
It became publicly fractured when Jordan’s 2020 docuseries, The Last Dance, came out and Pippen earlier this year claimed, it’s never been cordial.
“I just think Michael is a very difficult person to deal with,”Pippen said on PBD podcast.
“Played with him for years so I know that when it’s time for you to move in you direction, then go in your direction.”

“I don’t usually allow our lack of closeness to bother me,’ Pippen wrote.”
“I have plenty of friends. Yet there are occasions, and watching the doc was definitely one when I think about the relationship I wish the two of us had, and it hurts.
“It hurts a lot. By no means am I an innocent party here. I missed some openings that might have made a difference, and I have to live with that.”
The Bulls even attempted to reunite their legendary duo in 2024 by inducting them both into their first Ring of Honor class.
However, Jordan did not attend the event, with many speculating that decision was due to his relationship with Pippen.
