COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Employment agreements obtained by NBC4 between Ohio State and its coaches show that entire coaching staff will make a total of $16,125,000 in base salaries next season.

New defensive coordinator Matt Patricia will make a base salary of $2,500,000 while Brian Hartline, who was promoted to offensive coordinator, will make a base salary of $2,000,000.

Tim Walton becomes the third highest-paid assistant on the staff, receiving a base salary of $1.8 million next season.

First-year coach Tyler Bowen, who will be in charge of the offensive line next season, and Matt Guerrieri, who was promoted to safeties coach, will each make $900,000 in their first season of a three-year contract. Both salaries increase to $1,000,000 and $1,100,000 in the 2026 and 2027 seasons respectively.

After leading Ohio State to its ninth national title, head coach Ryan Day is set to make $2 million in his first season since signing a contract extension that runs through the 2021 campaign, with a value of $12.5 million in total compensation.

In addition to their base salaries, coaching staff members, with the exception of Day who is entitled to his own set of bonuses, will receive bonuses for participating and winning in postseason contests. Should Ohio State make the Big Ten championship game, a coach will receive an 8% bonus. Winning the Big Ten championship will result in an additional 4% bonus.

Participating in a New Year's Six bowl outside of the College Football Playoff (CFP) results in a 10% bonus. A CFP quarterfinal appearance will lead to a 20% compensation bonus, while a semifinal appearance results in a 25% bonus. Appearing in the national championship game guarantees a 30% bonus, increasing to 35% with a victory.

The 2025 season is set to begin on Aug. 30 at Ohio Stadium against Texas.
