New head coach Bucky McMillan has worked hard to turn over the roster at Texas A&M through the transfer portal. Unfortunately, one key piece of that group is reportedly looking to be released from his NLI to play for the Aggies.
According to Tobias Bass with The Athletic, guard Duke Miles has submitted the paperwork to be released from his NLI. Miles started 34 games for Porter Moser and Oklahoma last season and also has stops at Troy and High Point during his college basketball career.

— Tobias Bass (@tobias_bass) May 2, 2025This past season, Miles was Oklahoma’s 3rd-leading scorer at 9.4 points per game. The 6-foot-2 guard out of Alabama was also an elite 3-point threat, shooting 43% from deep and is a career 35.3% shooter from 3-point range.
Miles has a career average of 11.6 points per game across his 3 previous stops, and he is an efficient shooter from the floor. He shot 51.4% for the Sooners last season and is a career 49.5% shooter from the floor, including a 77.9% clip from the free-throw line.
For A&M, Miles was 1 of 8 transfer pieces for McMillan and one of the best. Miles was 1 of 4 transfer newcomers for the Aggies to receive a 4-star rating from 247 Sports.
We’ll see if Miles winds up at a new SEC destination in the future, but his departure is a big loss for McMillan’s first season.
