A BELOVED theme park is set to close its doors after more than 50 years.
And, the resort’s CEO has admitted the beloved fairground doesn’t fit in with the company’s long term growth plan.

That is because the amusement park will permanently close on November 2.
Richard Zimmerman, the president and CEO of Six Flags, admitted the decision to close the park wasn’t an easy one to make.
“As part of our comprehensive review of our park portfolio, we have determined that Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor are not a strategic fit with the company’s long-term growth plan,” he explained.
Chiefs have confirmed that season tickets issued for the year are not impacted by the pending closure.
The Six Flags America resort first opened its doors in 1974 and was turned into a theme park in 1999.
