Conor Benn has admitted that he would be more than happy to face Ryan Garcia for a belt next.
Benn is flying out to New York City on Wednesday for Garcia’s bout with Rolando Romero on a stacked card that takes place in Times Square.

Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson has even confirmed his attendance for a new role at the New York card.
Benn, 28, suffered a tight unanimous decision defeat to Chris Eubank Jr this past weekend and has been weighing up his options for his future in the squared circle.
Speaking to iFL TV, ‘The Destroyer’ explained why a fight with Garcia could be a great option, if a rematch with Eubank Jr doesn’t come to fruition.
“I’m flying out to New York tomorrow to see ‘Queen Ryan,'” Benn said on Tuesday.
“So we will see…I believe he’s campaigning at 147 [lbs], he’s got the WBA title fight if he wins this fight.
“No problem, I’d happily fight him for the WBA world title for sure, there’s options.”
Garcia discussed fighting Benn in an interview with SunSport this week, saying: “I wouldn’t mind fighting Conor Benn, that would be a lovely fight for me. Obviously he had a war with Chris Eubank [Jr].
“I don’t know if they’re gonna do a rematch but if that makes sense to my team and everybody else, let’s run it. We can do it.”
The World Boxing Association confirmed last week that Garcia’s fight with Romero that headlines the Times Square show will be for its secondary strap.
Garcia boasts a 24-1 pro record, having lost to Gervonta Davis in April 2023Getty Benn has confirmed that he will be in New York for Garcia’s fight with RomeroGettyThe sanctioning body has two championships: a ‘regular’ and a ‘super’ titleholder.
Additionally, the WBA’s welterweight world champion, Jaron Ennis, who is also the IBF king, was promoted to the ‘super’ champion status and mandated to defend his crown against No. 1 contender Shakhram Giyasov next.
Garcia could be elevated to WBA ‘Super’ champion if he wins this fight and either the IBF, WBC, or WBO belt, so it’s no surprise that Benn sees a bout with the American as a potential stepping stone to world title status.
Benn also confirmed that if his rematch with Eubank Jr doesn’t take place, then he would ‘love’ to fight WBC welterweight world champion Mario Barrios.
The Londoner headlined one of the greatest British boxing spectacles of all time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in front of nearly 70,000 fans and millions worldwide.
He was fighting at middleweight for the first time in his career, having previously fought at welterweight and super-welterweight, while Eubank Jr, who was released from hospital on Monday, cut down to 160 lbs.
Hearn has suggested that Benn could cut back down to 147lbs for his next fightGetty His fight with Eubank Jr was spectacularGettyReports have suggested that Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh, who organised the event on behalf of Ring Magazine, has already booked Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a September rematch between the pair.
However, Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, believes his team need to ‘think very carefully’ when deciding on his future.
“I think they served you up one of the greatest fights we’ve ever seen in this country,” he said.
“But for me, the danger was not for Chris Eubank Jr, the danger was for Conor Benn.
“And that’s why we have got to think very carefully about the rematch, because I don’t want to see too many fights like that.
“It’s all very well us sitting here and going, ‘Wow! What a fight! Let’s do it again,’ they’re the kind of fights that will shorten your career, and he’s got such a long career ahead of him.”
Garcia, meanwhile, is fighting for the first time since serving a one-year suspension with the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).
He was banned from boxing after testing positive for clomifene in two separate drug tests taken around his April 2024 clash with Haney.
‘King Ry’ won that bout, but the result was overturned to a no-contest, and after his ban, he’s now back to face Romero
