Harry Kane plans to stay at Bayern Munich for at least one more year – dashing hopes of a Premier League return this summer, talkSPORT understands.
Kane is believed to have a release clause in his Bayern contract that drops to £54million, from £67m, for an English team in January.
Harry Kane appears set to continue his Bundesliga adventureRex FeaturesThat clause had put a number of clubs, including Manchester United, on alert that Kane could be open to a move back once he has picked up the first league title of his career in the coming weeks.
However, sources close to Kane have indicated he is happy in Bavaria and would like to have a crack at defending the Bundesliga and winning the Champions League before even contemplating his exit.
Kane, 31, who averages virtually a goal a game for Bayern, knows his England place is secure all the time he is continuing to perform at the highest level.
Eyebrows were raised when Kane opted to move to the Bundesliga despite interest from the Premier League.
He was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City before the former Premier League champions splashed the cash on Erling Haaland.
Manchester United’s interest has been long standing while a sensational move back to north London with Arsenal has also been muted.
But it appears that Kane’s adventure with Bayern is the most likely outcome as he bids to claim an ever-elusive first trophy.
And that could see Kane’s chances of becoming the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer slip between his fingers.
The striker has netted 213 times in England’s top flight and was closing in on Alan Shearer’s record of 260 prior to his move to Bavaria.
But Kane’s insistence on prioritising major trophies over individual accolades is likely to pay off this weekend.

The England skipper has netted a staggering 80 goals in 89 games since joining Bayern in August 2023, including 36 in 44 games across all competitions this term.
But sadly the former Tottenham striker will miss the game that could finally put an end to his trophy hell after picking up a fifth yellow card against Mainz which sees him suspended for the game.
Asked about his upcoming suspension, Kane said: “Crazy, crazy decision.
“It’s kind of my story that I’ll miss the Leipzig game. But no worries, I’ll celebrate more than anyone else.
“I’m very disappointed that I got the yellow card. Because I also knew I already had four yellow cards. It’s crazy to be suspended with five yellow cards in 34 matches. It’s just a crazy rule. There should be a reset of yellow cards halfway through the season, like in the Premier League.”
Kane was visibly angered by his booking in last weekend’s win over MainzSky GermanyMeanwhile, Kompany softened the blow by highlighting Kane’s key role as Bayern close in on a 32nd Bundesliga title.
“It’s not ideal but we won,” Kompany said of Kane’s impending suspension. “But it is not like a final [against Leipzig].”
“We will play 34 games this season and I think injured guys like Jamal [Musiala], Alphonso [Davies], Dayot Upamecano and [Hiroki] Ito also have to celebrate the title,” he said.
“Every title you have to celebrate it like it’s your first so I don’t think it will make much of a difference for Harry.
“It doesn’t take away a single percent of his contribution this season.”
