As beloved as the restaurant chain is, many people along the East Coast have long bemoaned the fact that In-N-Out has yet to expand its borders further east than Texas. In the years ahead, however, that frustrating reality might soon be a faint memory.
"In-N-Out is building a distribution center in Tennessee, estimated to be completed in early 2026," the corporation said on X. "In-N-Out will consider opening stores further east once it has a patty-making facility within 300 miles of any new restaurant. There’s hope for the East Coast."

— In-N-Out Burger ᶠᵃⁿ (@innoutburger_) April 24, 2025As thrilling as this news might be, it's worth pointing out that In-N-Out's owner, Lynsi Snyder, said in 2024 that were no plans to move the company eastward any time soon. "As long as I’m around, I’m probably saying never," Snyder said when asked if there was any possibility of In-N-Out moving east, as reported by All Recipes.
When pressed about whether In-N-Out would allow franchising opportunities from outside parties, the company's X account promptly answered, "In-N-Out is privately owned and doesn’t franchise restaurants."
