AN Audi owner has racked up fines of some $58,000 after being ticketed for the same violation over 700 times.

The speeder tops a list compiled by the group, which looked at the top 10 school-zone speeders across New York City.
Weirdly enough, there are no Porsches, Ferraris, or Lamborghinis among the top 10 – if anything, they’re all pretty ordinary cars.
It’s the Audi driver who tops the table, with 177 tickets picked up so far this year in addition to the 563 tickets they’d been slapped with in 2024.
The owner has reportedly paid $46,636.60 of those fines to date, but they still owe $11,205.63. All of their speeding citations were picked up in Brooklyn, mostly by cameras on Ocean Parkway and Ocean Court.
Number two on the list drives a 2015 Mercedes C300, which was flagged by school-zone cameras 474 times in 2024.
However, they haven’t picked up a single ticket yet in 2025.
This driver, who picked up the majority of their tickets in Manhattan, has some way to go to cover their fines – having only forked out $3,531.69 so far with an eye-watering $47,858.17 still to cover.
Another Mercedes, a 2020 CLA, is number three on the list with 295 tickets for 2024 – they owe $24,716.62.
A 2022 Kia Forte is behind them in fourth place, with 246 tickets in 2024.

Drivers must be sure to wear their seatbelts because all passengers older than eight face the new penalties.
The new law means everyone riding charter buses have to wear their seatbelts – specifically affecting buses built on or after November 28, 2016.
These buses typically carry groups to specific destinations or on pre-arranged trips for a fee.
Parents could also get slapped with a ticket if their child aged 8 to 15 is caught unbuckled and they’re present during the ride.
What does Florida's license plate law say?
Driving on a public roadway with customized license plates is illegal in Florida.
Florida Statutes Section 320.061 prohibits the unlawful altering of a license plate.
The law states that altering or obscuring the following items is illegal:
Motor vehicle registration certificates License plates Temporary license plates Mobile home stickers Validation stickersDrivers cannot mutilate, alter, deface, or change the color of the plate in any way.

Substance Reflective matter Illuminated device Spray Coating Covering Other material interfering with the legibility, angular visibility, or detectability of the license plateNothing should interfere with the ability to record any feature or detail on the plate.
“A person who violates this section commits a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a moving violation as provided in chapter 318,” the law states.
The penalties for the violations include a $60 fine, three points on the driver’s license, and additional county fees.
