It has not been a great weekend of baseball for Texas A&M against No. 1 Texas, but the Aggies received a highlight-reel play for the ages in Sunday’s series finale.
After dropping the first 2 games of the weekend, A&M is trying to avoid the sweep and salvage the in-state rivalry by coming out with a win on Sunday. The Aggies have held a 4-2 lead since the top of the 4th inning, and outfielder Caden Sorrell did his part to keep that lead right there in the bottom of the frame.
First baseman Kimble Schuessler led off the bottom of the 4th inning and tried to give some momentum right back to the Longhorns, blasting a hard line drive into right centerfield that appeared destined to split the gap. However, Sorrell had other plans.
He ranged deep into the gap from his right field position and went completely airborne. The end result was a picturesque grab for Sorrell that can adequately be compared to Superman flying through the air with his cape flapping in the wind.
