Bet of the day
Draw in Bournemouth v Manchester United @ 31/10
Bournemouth went into the weekend in eighth place in the Premier League table but they have been inconsistent at best in recent weeks and they could struggle to justify being made odds-on favourites at home to Manchester United.
The Cherries have recorded only one win in their last 10 matches and, while that came in their last home game against Fulham, it was a narrow 1-0 success and goals have begun to dry up for them with only six scored in their last six games.
They had lost four in a row at home before the Cottagers game and failed to make a breakthrough against a Crystal Palace team who played the second half with 10 men in last week’s goalless draw.
United will prioritise their key Europa League match against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, but with places up for grabs in their semi-final line-up, they could do enough to secure a point on the south coast.
Special of the day
Liverpool to win and both teams to score v Tottenham @ 13/10
The champagne corks are ready to pop at Anfield on Sunday night, when a draw against Spurs would be enough to clinch the title for Liverpool.
Arne Slot is set to lift a major trophy in his first season as manager on Merseyside and, while his side have not been setting the world on fire with their performances in recent weeks, there are grounds for expecting an entertaining encounter.
The atmosphere should be buzzing and the Reds players will want to live up to the expectations of the fans, so there could be plenty of goalmouth action.
The teams have already shared 14 goals in three matches this season, with Liverpool securing a stunning 6-3 Premier League success in December.
Spurs won 1-0 at home in the first leg of the teams’ EFL Cup semi-final, but Liverpool shredded their defence once more in a thumping 4-0 victory in the second leg.
Tottenham went down 4-2 at Wolves in their most recent away game and they should be able to grab a consolation goal without threatening to spoil the home team’s party.
Long shot of the day
Espanyol to beat Villarreal @ 11/2
The sole La Liga fixture on Sunday pits sixth-placed Villarreal with Espanyol, who are 13th, but the visitors look a big price to upset their hosts’ Champions League ambitions.
Villarreal have won only one of their last four games and have just two wins in their last seven matches as nerves have crept in.
Wednesday’s trip to Celta Vigo turned into a disaster when Eric Bailly was sent off after 37 minutes and Villarreal lost 3-0 and they have three draws and a defeat in their last four home games.
Espanyol are closing in on securing their place in La Liga for next season, entering the weekend seven points above the drop zone with six games left.
They are finishing the campaign in their best form of the season having gone unbeaten in their last five games.
