News by : (SATURDAY DOWN SOUTH) -

The 2025 NFL Draft has now come and gone.

One thing remains: the SEC is king.

For the 19th consecutive season, the SEC led all conferences in total draft picks across the 7-round event. The league produced 79 total players in this year’s draft, blowing the previous record for a single draft (65) out of the water. Fifteen of the league’s 16 teams had at least 1 player drafted, with Mississippi State the only team shut out of the draft.

The Big Ten had 71 players selected during the event to finish with the second-most. That meant the top 2 leagues in the sport combined to produce 58.3% of the overall draft selections.

Within the league, Georgia led the way with 13 total selections. The Bulldogs came close to matching their 2022 output, which set a record with 15 players selected. Georgia was joined by Ohio State, which had a draft-best 14 players selected, to become just the fifth and sixth teams in the 7-round draft era to have 13 or more players selected in a single draft.

Texas finished with 12 selections, the third-most of any team.
