What time is the Pope's funeral? Timings confirmed The funeral itself began at 9am this morning (Saturday 26th April). Coverage is airing on both BBC One and Sky News. You can tune in to either of these channels to watch coverage live. What channel is Pope Francis's funeral airing on in the UK? The Pope's funeral is airing live on both BBC One and Sky News today. BBC One's coverage began at 8:30am, while Sky News began broadcasting at 8am. The BBC's coverage runs for four hours, with Reeta Chakrabarti presenting live from St Peter’s Square in Vatican City. The special was added to the channel's schedules in place of Saturday Kitchen Live, Mary Berry: Love to Cook and Football Focus, all of which will now air on BBC Two.
