Garlic shrimp. Caldo verde. Linguica. Bacalhau.
For the third year, the Consulate of Portugal in San Francisco and the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP) are teaming up to introduce diners to the delights of Portuguese cuisine.
Portugal Restaurant Week will run through Sunday, April 27, with promotions at nine restaurants in the Bay Area and Southern California.
Participants and menu highlights include;
Petiscos, San Jose: The $49 three-course menu offers multiple choices, including flaming chourico, octopus, pork and clams, shrimp in garlic sauce, beef tongue and duck rice. For dessert, there’s orange tort, flan, chocolate mousse or a cream tart.
Adega, San Jose: The $99 three-course dinner, offered starting at 5 p.m., features fine-dining choices such as ervilha, a fresh pea flan with chourico; suckling pig with sweet potato, orange and collard greens; swordfish with a white wine dill sauce; and matcha meringue with white chocolate, strawberries and raspberries.
Holy Nata, San Francisco: This bakery, which opened in 2023, is offering a box of four pasteis de nata for $10.
