Eddie Hall is set to hit the scales at a humongous weight for his fight with Mariusz Pudzianowski.
Hall fights the five-time World’s Strongest Man in the latter’s native Poland for a super-heavyweight MMA bout on Saturday night.
Hall looks shredded ahead of his second MMA fight this weekend in PolandKSWBoth men are representing the KSW banner, and it will be the Englishman’s toughest test yet in the combat sports world, given this will be Pudzianowski’s 27th MMA fight.
Hall, 37, entered the fighting world in 2022 when he suffered a unanimous decision defeat in boxing to Hafthor Bjornsson.
He then transitioned into MMA for a 2v1 ‘freak fight’ with the Neffati Brothers last June and knocked them both out.
The 2017 World’s Strongest Man has said that he’s left no stone unturned in his preparations for Pudzianowski, and has now revealed the weight he will hit the scales at come this weekend.
“I’m about 350-355 lbs at the minute, and I’ll probably fight at that,” he told talkSPORT.com.
“I’ve got no intention to lose any more weight. My fitness is good. I’ve been doing the four minute rounds. I’m not gassing, I’m big, I’m strong.
“I’ve never heard a fighter say, ‘I wish I was weaker for that fight.’ So I’ve got no intention to lose weight, muscle mass or whatever.
“I can fight, I’ve got the lung capacity and I’m happy to go in at this weight.”
Hall has been learning from the very best ahead of his MMA fight with Pudzianowski.
He has been training with UFC champion Tom Aspinall and his team as often as possible, being put through his paces on the feet and the mat.
Hall’s fight will be contested in four-minute rounds with 90 second breaksKSW He fights Pudzianowski at the Prezero Arena in Gliwice, Poland on Saturday nightKSW‘The Beast’ asserted that sparring with a man he believes to be the best in the world has done him a world of favours, but asserted that it has been ‘very humbling experience’ at the same time.
“I’ve been going up to Tom’s camp as much as I can,” the Stoke-on-Trent man said.
“[Aspinall’s] got some great guys there. [I’ve] even sparred with Tom, done some grappling with Tom.
“You can’t get any better than that. He might not be the number one in the world, but in my eyes, I think he is the number one in the world when it comes down to it.
“So to go and hang with the best in the world has been a massive privilege.
“[It was] also a very humbling experience. I’ll be honest, you spar with Tom and grapple with Tom…
Hall has trained with UFC champ Tom Aspinall in preparation for his MMA fight“You don’t realise how f****** w*** you are until you grapple and spar with someone like that!”
Hall had originally signed a contract to fight fellow Strongmen Brian Shaw, Martin Ford and Mitchell Hooper in Qatar in February 2024.
He had trained for seven months for those fights, but when it all collapsed, the Englishman was eager to get a new opponent.
After months of negotiations, he finally tied down Pudzianowski to a huge fight deal.
Hall was left disheartened after an original agreement on the length of rounds quickly changed to suit his opponent’s demands.
He wanted two-minute rounds and Pudzianowski asked for five minutes, so they eventually settled on four-minute rounds with 90 second breaks.
The fight is acting as the co-main event of KSW 105 in one of the biggest MMA promotions in Europe.
The card also features two title fights as Adrian Bartosinskif faces Andrzej Grzebyk in the main event for the KSW welterweight title.
