Police, crisis teams in standoff with man in parked car in La Jolla ...Middle East

Schools went into precautionary lockdown and residents in a La Jolla neighborhood were being told to stay in their homes Tuesday afternoon as crisis counselors attempted to speak to an apparently suicidal man in a parked car just west of Mt. Soledad.

The standoff between a SWAT team, San Diego police, and a man apparently armed with a pistol in a car on the 2000 block of Via Casa Alta near La Jolla Scenic Dr. has been ongoing for several hours.

The man’s identity and motive are not known at this time.
