Sydney Sweeney is showing off her new furry friend.
“Introducing sully bear ,” Sweeney, 27, wrote via Instagram on Monday, April 21. “So far in our two weeks together he’s become my set best friend, my bowling partner, my nap buddy, mutual water enthusiast, and travel companion.”
Sweeney also shared a series of photos and videos of her dog, including one of the pooch running toward her while in a grassy area. In another pic, Sweeney leaned down to kiss her dog as he looked up at her.
Sweeney introduced her dog to fans one month after Us Weekly exclusively confirmed that she and Jonathan Davino officially called off their engagement. A source told Us at the time that the Anyone But You actress was “telling friends she is single.”

“They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it,” the second source claimed. “Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”

Before the split, Sweeney and Davino coproduced the 2023 rom-com Anyone But You. Sweeney also starred in the film alongside Glen Powell, with whom she sparked affair rumors. Both Sweeney and Powell, 36, denied the speculation. (Powell was dating model Gigi Paris at the time.)
“I don’t have the mental capacity to pull anything like this off, but she’s very smart,” Powell told Business Insider in December 2023. “And look, Sydney and I do have authentic chemistry. … It was a lot easier for Sydney to lean into something like that because she’s in a very committed and wonderful relationship and she’s very happy.”

“The wedding caused a little bit of a stir. Did that surprise you?” Jenna Bush Hager asked Powell on an episode of Today With Jenna & Friends earlier this month. Powell laughed as he replied, “You know, timing is everything in this world, isn’t it?”
Powell, who did not discuss Sweeney’s split from Davino, added, “She and Syd are obviously great friends, and it was a hell of a wedding. The Powells know how to do it right, and so, all the people that love her were there.”
