CELEBRATED as one of America’s top convenience stores, Wawa has just opened up a new location for Florida’s capital residents.
A grand opening of the Thomasville Road store in Tallahassee took place on Wednesday, marking a clear sign of continued expansion across the Sunshine State.

Located at 3534 Thomasville Road, this store is Wawa’s third in Tallahassee and also the 300th location in Florida overall.
With over 1,100 stores across multiple states, Wawa continues to earn accolades and loyalty for offering more than just fuel.
From freshly made sandwiches, salads, snacks, and customizable coffee, it’s a beloved stop for travelers and locals alike.
PHILLY CLOSURES
The latest Tallahassee opening comes as two stores are set to close in an iconic state.
The Pennsylvania-based chain is closing two locations in its largest city, marking a huge blow to convenience stores in Northeast Philadelphia.
The 6506 Frankford Ave. store will close April 22, while the 6919 Castor Ave. branch will close on April 24.
A day before each of the closures, both locations will be offering customers free coffee.
BUILDING UP
Wawa shows no signs of slowing down.
Instead, the chain is pushing ahead with ambitious growth plans, especially in the Southeast.
The debut of Capital Circle Northwest’s first store happened back in November.
Then earlier this year, Wawa launched another store in Tallahassee on North Blair Stone Road.
Around the same time, Wawa also opened its first-ever location in Georgia, bringing its signature to the Bainbridge community.
FUTURE PLANS
Now, with the Thomasville Road location officially open, Wawa is aiming even higher.
The company has announced plans to open 20 additional stores across Florida in the coming years
This includes up to six more locations in Tallahassee over the next five to eight years.
Wawa’s continued investment in Florida signals strong consumer demand and a strategy to build a presence in fast-growing regions.
For now, Tallahassee residents can enjoy the latest addition to their neighborhood, and they won’t have to wait too long for even more Wawa locations to pop up.
