Arizona football picked up a commitment from three-star 2026 tight end Henry Gabalis on Saturday, he announced on X.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound tight end was ranked as the No. 89 athlete and No. 15 prospect out of his home state of Washington.
Gabalis visited Oregon State on April 5 after he was in Tucson the week prior, as the two were considered the frontrunners in his recruitment. He previously planned to visit in-state Washington State as well.
Arizona currently holds eight tight ends on its spring 2025 roster, including six from in-state. Two are redshirt seniors, including Sam Olson, who was second among Wildcat tight ends in receiving last season with 196 yards and two scores.
Gabalis is the first tight end the Wildcats have added in either the 2025 or 2026 classes.
How does Henry Gabalis fit into Arizona’s growing 2026 class?
Gabalis becomes the fifth 2026 commit for Arizona in a class that ranks at No. 53 nationally and 13th in the Big 12.
Chandler High’s Hamisi Juma, the No. 13 prospect in Arizona, is among the headliners for the class. The 6-foot-4 defensive back had 48 tackles across eight games at Chandler as a junior after he had 38 tackles and two for a loss in five games as a sophomore at Tolleson High.
Arizona’s highest-rated commit in the class thus far is 5-foot-8 wide receiver Caleb Smith out of Allen High in Texas, the same school that produced Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. Smith is the No. 788 prospect overall and No. 125 wide receiver.
Smith missed his junior year with a torn ACL but totaled 389 receiving yards with three touchdown catches as a sophomore. He added 174 yards and three touchdowns on the ground across his 14 games.
Arizona also holds a 2026 commitment from linebacker Dash Fifita, the brother of current quarterback Noah Fifita. The younger brother is rated as a top-100 linebacker in the class and No. 1,159 overall.
