He bought a top-tier Gulfstream 650ER, one of the fastest private jets on the market.
Even after spending $70 million on the jet, Jordan took it over the top with some special upgrades.
He dropped $500,000 on a custom paint job that is inspired by his elephant print sneakers.
The outside of the jet is a stealthy black design with the signature Jordan Jumpman logo on the tail.
Even the plane’s tail number is specially crafted to pay homage to his career.
The tail number is N236MJ, which blends his No. 23, his six NBA titles, and his initials, MJ.
The Gulfstream 650ER packs two massive Rolls-Royce engines to keep it up in the air.
Those engines allow the plane to nearly reach the speed of sound.
The interior of the plane is packed with luxury amenities to keep Jordan and his passengers comfortable.
The jet is 100 feet long and can hold up to 19 passengers for a trip.
A four person crew is needed to staff the plane.
There are extensive amounts of seating areas, a private dining room, and a fully stocked bar on the plane.
Jordan’s jet can fly continuously for 13 hours without needing to refuel, but also comes with hefty maintenance costs.
Those costs come in at around $1.9 million per year for 200 hours of flying.
That’s chump change for a man like Jordan though, who has a net worth of $3.5 billion.
He can easily afford the operating costs that cover fuel, crew wages and insurance.
Jordan is probably using his jet to fly around the country watching Nascar races.
He has spent much of his time in retirement following 23XI across the country to their races.
