On the latest episode of their joint podcast, IMO, former FLOTUS Michelle Obama and her older brother, Craig Robinson, reminisced about the early days of Michelle and Barack's relationship.
“Mich starts to date Barack, and we don’t know who this guy is," Craig, 62, recalled. "We’re just like, ‘Barack? Who’s got a name like Barack?’“
“That’s not true," Michelle, 61, disagreed. "I had many a longterm boyfriend.”
Craig and Barack ended up bonding when the pair played a game of pickup basketball (at Michelle's suggestion).
While Barack has been part of the family ever since, he eventually had to put his basketball hobby on hold.“Barack put his basketball shoes up once he got his lip busted once he was in the White House playing a pickup game,” Michelle revealed. “He needed, like, 30-something stitches … He had some major speech, this was probably Saturday. He had some major speech on Monday. I was like, ‘This is what I’m saying. You’re playing like you’re 10, and now your lip is split.’“
Michelle and Barack tied the knot in 1992 and went on to welcome two daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.
