Shedeur Sanders draws comparison to Johnny Manziel as draft wild card, per ESPN analyst ...Middle East

Shedeur Sanders shook the college football world while at Colorado, and now he’s poised to do the same at the NFL level.

Next week in Green Bay, the son of Deion Sanders, who coached him in Boulder, will be picked by some team that plans to have him as its quarterback of the future. That whole thing is only days away, and Sanders’ NFL destination will remain a mystery until then. By all accounts, he should be one of the top quarterbacks taken, if not the first one, and possibly one of the top picks of the entire draft.

But wait a minute, said ESPN analyst Peter Schrager during an appearance on First Take on Tuesday.

“I wouldn’t be lying if I said this isn’t the guy we don’t know (where he goes). We don’t. You see him No. 2 on this mock draft, you see him 3 on this one, you see him 6 on this one, you see him 9 on this one, 21 on this one,” said Schrager.

If that didn’t make your head spin enough, Schrager invoked the name of college football legend and former Texas A&M star quarterback Johnny Manziel, whom he compared to Sanders. Incidentally, Manziel was the 22nd pick overall in the 2014 draft by the Cleveland Browns, so what Schrager was talking about with Sanders’ draft order uncertainty was real.

“I have no idea where Shedeur is going, and we are 9 days from the NFL Draft. I think he’s the most fascinating quarterback prospect we have seen since Johnny Manziel, in that everyone knows who he is, he’s a household name, and he has a much different story than Johnny Manziel. But we don’t know where he’s going to go, and if he does slide, you better believe more and more people will be tuning into the NFL Draft to see exactly where he goes,” explained Schrager.

Come April 24 when the draft begins, the clock will be ticking on Sanders and people will be tuning in by the masses to see where Deion Sanders’ son goes and, more importantly, when he gets picked.
