Hailey Van Lith’s arrival at the Chicago Sky has made one person delighted.
Angel Reese wasted no time in expressing her excitement at reuniting with her former LSU teammate Van Lith and also made her intentions for this season clear.

It means Reese will suit up alongside Van Lith for the second time in her career after the duo played one season together at LSU during the 2023-2024 season.
“We ain’t do it right the first time. Let’s run it backkkkk,” Reese posted on X, two minutes after the Sky announced their pick.
When Reese says they didn’t do it right the first time, she is referring to how her and Van Lith fell at the Elite Eight in 2024 with LSU.
They were beaten by Caitlin Clark‘s Iowa Hawkeyes and in particular it was dismal day for Van Lith.
She was matched up with Clark who lit up the guard for 41 points.
Following that defeat Van Lith transferred to TCU Horned Frogs while Reese was selected by Chicago at No.7 in last year’s draft.
Both Reese and Van Lith enjoyed stellar 2024-25 seasons.
Van Lith departed TCU with 2,616 points, 698 rebounds, 579 assists in just 171 games started to her name.
The rookie, who teared up when she was selected, averaged 17.9 points per game with the Horned Frogs.

Reese is coming off a campaign where she averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.
She finished second in Rookie of the Year voting behind Clark.
The Sky were expected to make the playoffs last year but their season was derailed when Reese suffered a wrist injury late in the campaign.
With the arrival of Van Lith and their earlier signing of Ariel Atkins, a postseason appearance is the minimum expectation for Chicago.
We’ll first see Reese and Van Lith when they return to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on May 2 as the Sky face the Brazilian national team in a preseason game at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
