The athlete, 54, was asked about Shields, 59, writing her latest book, Brooke Shields is Not Allowed to Get Old, which tells some stories about their past relationship in the late '90s.
Agassi and Shields were married from 1997 to 1999. "I’m glad I never got pregnant with my first husband because it would have been a disaster,” Shields reportedly wrote. “When we got divorced he made that very clear.” She also claimed Agassi told her to “be thankful we didn’t have children” when they divorced “because I would not have made this easy for you.”
Shields went on to marry her now-husband Chris Henchy and they share two children, daughters Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18. For his part, Agassi has been married to fellow tennis star Steffi Graf since 2001. The couple also have two children together, Jaden, 23, and Jaz, 21.
