Criminal defence lawyer Emma and John Barnett, along with their teenage daughter Beth, appear to live an idyllic life on Shelbury Drive in the north east of England.

However, when Emma and John decide to add a kitchen extension to their house these friendships are placed under strain.

British actress Halfpenny, 49, rose to fame in the series Byker Grove before joining long-running soap operas Coronation Street and then EastEnders.
Television audiences will have seen her most recently in the Channel 5 series The Cuckoo.
Rupert Penry-Jones
Rupert Penry-Jones plays John Barnett (Photo: Gary Moyes, Lonesome Pine Productions/Channel 5)Penry-Jones, 54, became well known for his portrayal of Adam Carter in the BBC series Spooks.
He played Mayor Don Mitchell, Jr. in the recent television Batman spin-off The Penguin.

British actor Fearon, 51, began his career in the theatre and has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
He provided the vocals for Fawkes in the Fantastic Beasts films and played Beres Champion in the musical drama Champion.

Amy Nuttall portrays Sonia Spence (Photo: Gary Moyes/ Lonesome Pine Productions/Channel 5)Nuttall rose to prominence as Chloe Atkinson in the soap Emmerdale Farm.
She has also appeared on stage in The Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady and Cabaret.

And crews were spotted further east of the city in the town of Jarrow, just a few miles from the coast.

There are six hour-long episodes in total of the new drama series, with the first three being shown on consecutive nights this week on Monday 14, Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 April.
They will also be available to stream on My5.
