Over 12K people without power in the Denver metro area: Xcel ...Middle East

DENVER (KDVR) -- Thousands of people were without power in the Denver metro area Monday morning amid snowy conditions.

Early morning snow hit the metro with thick flakes falling around 5 a.m. The weather is starting to clear up and will eventually hit seasonal temperatures around 60 degrees, but there are still several outages in the metro area.

While it's unclear if the weather is causing these outages, thousands have been without power, with most outages in Lakewood. Here's how many people are without power as of 6:30 a.m.:

According to Xcel, there are five outages, leaving over 12,000 people without power as of 6:30 a.m. Most outages are near West Mississippi Avenue in Littleton, between the South Alemeda and Greenbriar - Cloverdale neighborhoods.

Just after 6 a.m., there were over 15,000 outages. Power is being restored in the area, however, it's unclear when all the outages will be fixed.

Others have reported outages in Littleton and Golden, but power has since been restored to those areas.
