TRAE YOUNG has weighed in on Luka Doncic’s tears during his emotional return to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Slovenian returned to American Airlines Center on Wednesday night for the first time since the Mavericks traded him to the Lakers.

Doncic broke down in tears as the package played and he received a rapturous reception from Mavs fans.
And the outpouring of emotion led to a blunt assessment from Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young, who reposted a video of the scenes on X and wrote: “He was never gonna leave.”
Doncic was so overcome with emotion that he was worried he wouldn’t be able to play the game.
He said: “I don’t know how I did it because when I was watching that video I was like, ‘There’s no way I’m playing this game.’
“But all my teammates had my back and were really supporting me.
“There were so many emotions I can’t even explain. It brought tears to my eyes.
“I came here as a young kid, aged 18, and they made me feel like it was home.

But get through the game the 26-year-old did as he dropped 45 points on his former side as the Lakers ran out 112-97 winners.
Doncic, who thought he’d spend his entire career with the Mavericks, revealed he was battling a range of emotions earlier in the day.
He said: “It was a little bit of both, happy and angry. It’s nice to see some familiar faces here. It was a lot emotions.
“When I woke up, I was tired. Ain’t going to lie, I didn’t sleep much. Excited about this game.
“I really appreciate the fans, the way they reacted to me.”
