Frankie Collins has had a very well-traveled college career, and on Thursday, the guard announced his latest destination.
The Las Vegas-area product, who last played for TCU, has signed with Vanderbilt, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Collins played just 9 games for the Horned Frogs in 2024-25 after transferring from Arizona State, but broke his left foot and was lost for the year. He averaged 11.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in abbreviated action.
His college career began at Michigan as he signed with the Wolverines as a 4-star recruit and the No. 7 point guard in the class of 2021. He appeared in 31 games with the program in 2021-22, starting once.
He then entered the transfer portal for the first time and landed at Arizona State. There, he averaged 9.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 35 games (34 starts) in 2022-23. In 2023-24, he averaged 13.8 points and a Pac-12-best 2.6 steals a game, landing on the conference’s All-Defensive Team in back-to-back seasons.
Collins then entered the portal a second time, landing at TCU for the 2024-25 season. But what would have been his final year of eligibility with the Horned Frogs was cut short due to injury.
Now, after receiving a medical redshirt, he will suit up for Mark Byington and the Commodores as they look to build on their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017.
