Rodriguez will be playing Pietro, a party planner hired by the Newman family to throw a birthday party for the family’s matriarch Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Pietro is described as “a successful and sought-out party planner to the movers and shakers in Genoa City.” Rodriguez will have his job cut out for him in order to impress the great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
This is not Rodriguez’s first time on a soap opera. The reality TV icon has had the opportunity to star on four other daytime dramas over the years. His history with soaps began with All My Children in 1993, One Life to Live in 2005, Days of Our Lives in 2012, and The Bold and the Beautiful in 2016.
The original Queer Eye for the Straight Guy premiered in 2003 and ran for a total of 100 episodes over the course of five seasons before ultimately ending in 2007. The series won an Emmy for outstanding reality program in 2004.
Rodriguez will appear in a total of four episodes of the daytime drama The Young and the Restless, with the first airing Wednesday, May 28.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS, and streams daily on Paramount+.
