Team Gujarat Titans (GT) won the high-profile IPL match against Team Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 58 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans posted 217/6 on the board after being invited to bat first. Sai Sudharsan led the GT batting unit with his remarkable 82 off 53 balls while Jos Buttler and Shahrukh Khan contributed with 36 runs each before Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan finished the innings on a high. Defending the score, GT managed to bowl out RR for 159 in 19.2 overs and all the six bowlers bagged at least one wicket in the innings.

"Good total first up on the board. It wasn't easy in the first 3-4 overs. Sai and Jos Buttler were tremendous. We will take 220 any day of the week. The way we have been bowling spin is very clinical. Our fast bowlers are doing a tremendous job."

Whosoever I bring in there is just happy to take wickets and contribute - Shubman Gill

"Everyone is chipping in. If you are having difficulties in choosing the player of the match, that's a good problem to have, and that's been our hallmark as a team. Everyone contributes and chips in. Good for us."

"Very pleased. When you have got bowlers like we have in our team, the captaincy becomes quite easy. Especially the form that all of our fast bowlers are in makes my job very easy. Whosoever I bring in there is just happy to take wickets and contribute.

"Everyone is very nice. We have got Ishi bhai (Ishant Sharma) who has played over 100 Test matches but everyone is super nice."

How did GT perform in the previous IPL match against RR?

Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Gujarat Titans allowed the Rajasthan Royals to end up with a total of 196/3 on the board as Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson smashed stunning half-centuries. With the ball, only Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Rashid Khan were among the wickets for GT.

But as GT tried to accelerate, RR pacer Kuldeep Sen struck thrice in two overs, and the home team suddenly tightened their grip reducing the Titans to 133/5.

40 runs were needed off the final 15 balls for GT to win and Rashid Khan (24 off 11) along with Rahul Tewatia (22 off 11) kept GT alive and even after Tewatia's run out, the Afghan star sealed the win by smashing Avesh Khan for a four on final ball.
