Transfer Alabama forward Mouhamed Dioubate had a very good year for the Crimson Tide, as he finished the season averaging 7.2 PPG and 5.9 RPG. He just finished his sophomore year, so there was an expectation that he could be a big part of the future for Nate Oats.
However, he made news by entering the transfer portal and on Monday, he made an announcement that he would be staying in the SEC and going to play for Mark Pope at Kentucky.

— Mouhamed Dioubate ® (Mo D) (@MoDioubate) April 7, 2025Dioubate was a highly sought-after prospect that had many teams across the country interested in having them on their team. He chose Kentucky over Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina and Villanova among many others.
The Wildcats have a ton of talent on the perimeter, but getting many more athletic wings to attack the paint is something Kentucky desperately needs.
For the next 15 days, the transfer portal in college basketball is going to be filled with guys staying at their school as well as leaving for another place. The portal closes on April 22, except in the case that a coach leaves. Then, those players at that school have another 30 days to consider transferring.
Dioubate is a great pick-up for the Wildcats, but don’t be surprised if Kentucky keeps bringing in players.
